Immunity and Care

Immunity and care

Everyone says that “Prevention is better than Cure”. So we need to build a good immune system to prevent disease. The Immune system is the greatest protection mechanism inside our body. It is designed to defend you against millions of bacteria, microbes, viruses, toxins, and parasites that love to invade our body. There are different branches of the immune system that each serve a unique function in protecting the body. It is a composite network of cells and proteins. The immune system keeps a data or track record of every pathogen or microbe it has ever defeated so that it can recognize and wipe out the microbe quickly if it enters the body again. Two types of immune systems are present— active and passive: Active immunity occurs when our own immune system is responsible for protection from a microbe. Passive immunity occurs naturally, such as when an infant receives a mother's antibodies or artificially, such as when a person receives antibodies in the form of an injection.

Sometimes our immune system fails to fight and we fall sick as the germs invade successfully and it multiplies in our body. Failure of immunity power results in autoimmune disorders, inflammation of the internal organs, blood disorders or abnormalities, etc. So we need to boost or strengthen our immune system. A healthy immune system reduces the chances of infection by various pathogens. To keep the immune system healthy, follow a healthy lifestyle with the support of the perfect diet and exercise.

Ensure your diet is well-rounded. Probiotics are a great source of immunity power and the best source for probiotics are fermented foods, such as yogurt. Give half your plate to fruits and vegetables and have a lean protein and whole grains as well. Eating foods high in antioxidants like berries, chocolates can help to increase immune power.

Consuming alcohol, tobacco chewing in excess can lead to the deterioration of the immune system. There is evidence from both human and animal research that addiction to these leads to a decrease in immune reactivity, reducing the body’s ability to fight against infection.

Daily exercise is very important to improve the immune system. Exercise increases the circulation of blood and many cells in our body that help to reject viruses and harmful bacteria.

Positive life changes

A truly healthy immune system depends on a balanced mixture of vitamins and minerals. Three highly important vitamins for immunity are Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin E. Lack of vitamin C makes you easily prone to sickness. Oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, bell peppers, spinach, and broccoli are rich sources of vitamin C. Daily intake is highly essential for health because our body doesn’t produce or store vitamin C. Vitamin B6 is key to support biochemical reactions in the immune system. Its sources include chicken, cold-water fish (salmon and tuna), green vegetables, and chickpeas. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps the body to fight infection. Rich sources of vitamin E include nuts, seeds, and spinach.

To boost the immunity power and appetite we at Nisarga have developed 2 medicines viz. ‘Imutizer’ for children and ‘Imuplus’ for adults. These medicines are generated with Ayurveda base so it does not give any side effects.
